• Tell us about yourself, and what led you to your business.

I originally migrated from New Zealand to Hawaii in 1992 to help out a friend whose business was experiencing problems, and I ended up buying it from him. After expanding the business into a full-service marketing agency with a growing roster of clients, I was offered an opportunity to merge shops and form a new partnership with Laird, Christianson, Harris and McNeil Wilson, which was Hawaii’s largest advertising and communications consultancy at the time. It has since changed its name to Anthology. After 5 years I missed the intimacy and depth of working with a handful of clients and founded the Harris Agency in 2004. We launched Food Gurus Hawaii in 2018 to specialize in food & beverage marketing services and then founded our digital agency, Digi-Vortex, as a joint venture in 2019.
