Lara Sonoda is the Assistant Vice President & Commercial Banking Officer at First Hawaiian Bank. She collaborates daily with small businesses to help them succeed in achieving their goals and growing their businesses. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Lara worked late hours and weekends to help small businesses qualify for PPP loans and navigate the ever changing financial and legal landscape at that critical time. Lara currently serves as the President of Lambda Psi Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi and ensures that chapter officers discharge their duties and enforce Delta Sigma Pi’s Bylaws, Policies and Procedures. She also serves as a Director for the Hilo Rotary Club Foundation and is a Past President of the Big Island Press Club. She previously volunteered with Special Olympics as an officiate, assistant coach, and chaperone at away games. In addition to being active in the community, Lara also serves as the Treasurer for the Hawaii Island Chamber of Commerce and helps sponsor seminars and programs to help members conduct better business.
