Economic Development Committee Meeting

Our guest speaker will be Julie Morikawa, Executive Director of ClimbHI. Background: ClimbHI Bridge was created by request of the community & the Hawaii Executive Collaborative and then adopted by the DOE to create a streamlined way for businesses and organizations to connect with schools. This recent adoption was followed up by workshops at schools across the state of Hawaii on how to use the portal for educators’ purposes of connecting their students to work-based learning opportunities.
The goal on Hawaii Island is to build out the business/organization side so that our educators have a great selection of opportunities that they can access. We have so much to offer our keiki, and helping them to see all of those different opportunities is essential so that they are inspired to stay in Hawaii and contribute to a thriving economy.
This committee works to enhance the general business climate on Hawai`i Island and to support a stable and healthy economy. The committee organizes informative presentations to members which focus on issues that affect businesses.
Meetings: 2nd Thursday of the month at 10:00am via Zoom (Dates and times subject to change)
